　　As a strong candidate, I would like to apply for the xxx Scholarship. Not only am I qualified in academic excellence, but also in leadership and social skills, as well as in my future career plan.

　　Firstly, I have earned numerous awards for my academic achievements. I am particularly proud of my score for my major, Supply Chain Management, which was number one in my class; another example worth mentioning is that I received a grade of A in all three assessments administered by the university. I was even granted a scholarship based on my examination results.

　　Secondly, I have also been actively assuming responsibility in the student community by acting as the Life Co-ordinator of my class. The main duty was to manage the daily life of students, such as to supervise students in the cleaning of their dorms and to ensure that forbidden electric appliances were not used in the dorms, for safety concerns. Other duties included organizing excursions for students, where I, as a team leader, needed to assign tasks to other student assistants and supervised them in areas such as transport, food and drinks and safety. In addition, I participated in a variety of extra-curricular activities, such as a university debate competition, where I won praises by teachers and the Best-Debater title.

　　Another experience you might be interested in knowing is my internship. One served as a superb opportunity for me to use my English in the real-world scenarios. In 2008, I interned in a hotel as an English-speaking front-desk receptionist, where I received foreign guests and introduced the cultural and historical sites of China. I also handled complaints on the services of the hotel and then summarized the solutions orally to the team leader. Sometimes, I also needed to explain to the guests how to use the facilities in the hotel rooms.

　　Another internship experience was related to my major. It was with Zheke Corporation, which specializes in computer sales. I job shadowed in the after-sales team to optimize their workflow. Through close observation and direct involvement in communicating with the suppliers, confirming the ordered products and models in stock, and relaying messages to the delivery team, I discovered problems which resulted in delayed response to the orders, which translated into unhappy customers. The reasons ranged from staffing and scheduling issues to poor selection of suppliers. The case study was used in my term paper.

　　As well as above, my vision will also contribute to the consideration of granting me the scholarship. Upon graduation, which will be the immediate objective of my overseas education, my next step would be to pursue relevant professional experience with a track record in my career path, and the recognition of my future supervisors and colleagues. Meanwhile, I will continue my professional development throughout my work life.

　　I am confident that I will be a worthy candidate for the scholarship based on above merits and I will not fail your expectation.
